A Concept Note
A project proposal for providing employment to graduates in colleges in the state. It is essential to bridge the gap between the student and opportunity for employment. It is the need of the hour to instill mind-mapping process in the student in this direction
Primary Reasons
·
The main reason for the lack of growth of IT, ITES, hospitality and service industry etc in Rajasthan is the paucity of awareness and shortage of skilled personnel.
·
Absence of campus recruitments/industry interface in the colleges, which hampers the access to established institutions.
·
Majority of students are weak in communication skills, soft skills and several other applied skills, which are the requirements of the industry or the corporate world.
·
To achieve this goal, within a period of 1 year training can be imparted in a conducive learning environment.

Aims
·
To open new avenues by providing career opportunities for the students who do not pursue higher studies after completion of graduation

Under earn while learn schemes, to impart different trainings with partners from various sectors

To increase the overall employability graph of the students in government/private colleges across the state

Approach
·
To establish ten knowledge/learning centers in select colleges across the state.
·
Mode of selection through pre assessment test. The best students to be placed in the knowledge centers at the hosting colleges.
·
The students will be trained with the Industry grade skills in KCs in addition to the normal academic program.
·
CCE will pool in the best quality expertise from colleges, universities and industry etc to prepare the content. The training shall be imparted by trained mentors of the hosting college
·
The training may include communication skills, soft skills , basic IT training, finance and insurance training, web programming , travel and tourism, export marketing and package, hotel management, BPO- call centre training etc.
·
Industry and other sectors are invited for partnering this initiative by way of sharing their know how, best practices, technologies, tools and challenges. They shall also assist in infrastructure (computers/books/CDs and information material etc) and organizing training for faculty members/mentors.
Project Action Plans
·
Establishment of student campus placement cell (SCPC) at the college level. A state level nodal officer at CCE level will coordinate with SCPC.
·
A link officer nominated by CCE will assist the nodal officer in framing the guidelines and looking after the communication with the college
·
The nodal officer will prepare and communicate the manual for SCPC to all colleges
·
A two day workshop with the principals, key industry representatives will be called to explain the modalities of the program and finalization of SCPC program manual
·
The nodal officer will monitor the execution of the programs at the college level.
Requirements of a KC
To provide conducive environment for learning the basic paraphernalia required will be provide by the potential college

Computer lab with 35 systems and two hours UPS backup

12 hours a day (working access)

512Kbps internet facility

Library facility with good number of books
·
Hostel facility on a charged basis (optional)

Mode of selection of students
·
Entrance test for second and third year students in the colleges with consistent good academic record (25% weight age will be given for past academic record and 75% for screening test)
·
Based on the scores obtained from the test the willing candidates may be permitted to registered in the KC(60% seats may be allotted to the KC hosting college and remaining seats may be allotted to neighboring GDCS)
·
Registration fees of rupees thousand per annum will be collected to meet the general expenditure in KC and amount collected will be utilized by the KC hosting college
Eligibility, Contribution and Benefits to different Stakeholders
STUDENTS
Eligibility: 1. Consistent good academic record.
2 Clearing the Pre-assessment test.
Contributions: One month salary on obtaining the job to KC Hosting College.
Benefits: Exposure to real time projects, Industry projects.
College
Eligibility: Select Colleges {1st phase} as selected by the CCE
Contributions:
- Ensuring that at least 30% of the II and III year students enroll into KCs.
- Conducting the test and registering the candidates to KC.
- Each selected candidate is permitted to join the KC.
Benefits:
- Placement opportunities to the selected Candidates.
- Reputation to the college.
KC HOSTING COLLEGES
ELIGIBILITY:
- Fulfillment of minimum requirements mentioned
- Selection of centers in phased manner
Contributions:
- Expenditure for providing the facilities as outlined in the eligibility criteria
- Administration of KCs
Benefits:
- Campus recruitment opportunity for the students
- Establishment of linkage with the industry
- Development of resources- projects
- Exposure to real time/ Live projects
- Better name as “Centers of Learning” as identified by the CCE/ Deptt. Of Higher Education.
Industry
Eligibility: Undertake an agreement with SCPC
Contributions:
- Visit the KCs and conducting campus interviews
- Paying one-month salary for every selected candidate to KC Hosting College. The same is waived off for Companies who are partners in setting up KCs
Benefits:
- Excellent opportunity to have access to the best candidates with Consistent good academic record.
- Access to a pool of candidates to train as per the need of the Industry
GOVERNMENT
Eligibility: Undertake an agreement with SCPC
Contributions: Promotional money of 10 laces to meet the expenditure for each KC
Benefits:
- Employment generation.
- Cheaper high quality alternative for project execution through KCs.
- Excellent opportunity to have access to the best candidates from the state with a consistent good academic record.
REQUIRED INITIAL FUNDING: Rs. 1.00 Crore
